We are boat owners!

Last Thursday we headed to Milan after I got out of work. We bought a pontoon trailer and headed to Onsted to get our boat. We bought an older, but huge, pontoon boat from Chuck and Debbie Schmidt. It hadn't been in the water for a few years. The boat was difficult to get from the land onto the trailer. After about 2 hours and lots of rain, and cuss words. The boat was loaded onto the trailer and ready to be powerwashed. Jeff wasn't going to be able to finish power washing that night and had to leave the boat for the next day. The second day he finished power washing the boat and brought it home. It was like a child in a candy store! The following night I attempted to clean two of the seats. After about an hour I was about 3/4 of the way done. It will take a lot of scrubbing to clean it to my specification, but its good enough for now. Derek DeCatur came over to help check out the motor and ensure the boat would run well. He said that we got another good deal on the boat and that it would be running great for the 4th!
On Thursday we are heading to Munising for the 4th. Plans have changed a million times, so I'm not sure what is in store. We are definitely taking the boat out to view the Pictures Rocks shoreline. We also have Brynnlee's baptism on Saturday and of course the 4th festivities on Monday. On Monday night we might take the boat out into the bay to view the fireworks. We figured it would be better on Brynnlee's ears. I'm so excited to have a week away from work.
